Dániel Bodosi
Was born in Baraolt on July 27, 1913.
Between 1941 and 1944, he was a student of Gyula Rudnay at the Budapest College of Fine Arts.
In 1944, he returned to Baraolt. He lived and created art here.
In the 1950s, he designed posters and sets for theaters and cultural centers. Starting in 1968, he regularly participated in group exhibitions organized both within and outside of Covasna County. He had solo exhibitions and memorial exhibitions in Sfântu Gheorghe (1973, 2015), Odorheiu Secuiesc (1974, 2014), Cluj-Napoca (1983, 2016, 2023), Budapest (2022), Bucharest (1983), Ozunca-Băi (1977), Baraolt (1974, 1994, 1997, 2005, 2020), Brașov (2013), Miercurea Ciuc (2015), and Lăzarea (2023).
His paintings can be found in the Jenő Gyárfás Gallery of the Székely National Museum in Sfântu Gheorghe, the Transylvanian Art Center, the permanent exhibition in the Rudnay Room in Budapest, the Zirc local government, the Rezső Haáz Museum in Odorheiu Secuiesc, the Sándor Petőfi Cultural House in Bucharest, the Baróti Szabó Dávid School Center and the Municipal Cultural House in his hometown, as well as in other public and private collections.
From 1994, he was a member of the Gyula Rudnay Society of Friends and Memorial Artists.
In 1994, he was awarded the title of Honorary Citizen of the town of Baraolt.
In 2005, the Gaál Mózes Cultural Association of Barót awarded Dániel Bodosi the Erdővidék Culture Award for his outstanding artistic achievements.
In 2006, the Covasna County Council awarded him the Pro Comitatu Covasnae Prize in recognition of his efforts to enhance the reputation of the county.
The artist passed away in Baraolt on August 30, 2006, at the age of 93.
